Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I love this keyboard as an IT guy. It’s USB, which is more reliable than wireless. It’s useful for ensured BIOS access, as wireless keyboards don’t always allow smooth access to BIOS configuration. This keyboard has a good backlight that doesn’t bother my eyes. The colors can be changed, and there are a few modes, such as breathing color changes or a fixed color. It has large, visible characters that are easy to see in the dark, and it comes with useful extra function buttons for media control and others, such as the calculator.Overall, after trying several expensive wireless keyboards, I have opted for USB for simplicity, and I’ll keep this keyboard, which is good for professional work. Also, it’s silent—you can’t hear much typing. Attached keyboard picture and manual. This is a 100% keyboard, messing full size with num-pad.

Customer Review: Very nice keyboard. I especially liked the lighted keyboard. Not really happy about the flattened tops of the keys because I’d gotten used to the nicely indented ones of my previous keyboard (which was retired because the letters/numbers had rubbed off). Feels a little weird. But I do like the wrist guard, and it was easy to operate the lights. An inexpensive wired keyboard connected by plugging it into the pc, it also had the large letters I wanted. You’d be surprised how hard it was to find these at local stores. So glad Amazon had it. I would highly recommend it and would order it again in a heartbeat! Connection was almost instant, and don’t have to worry about batteries dying!

It is obvious the manufacturer cares about making a quality product.Keyboard response can be a subjective opinion, so take that into consideration, read a lot of the reviews.I definitely like the “feel”. It gives good tactile feedback: you know it when you hit a key.So I think my typos have decreased: there were SO many!It is a bargain at this price, but again I can’t comment on how long it will last. Now, I did Not actually pour water on this keyboard to test it for this review… I just knocked a tumbler of water on it by mistake! Customer Review: Big, bright and large backlit keys that are easy to see. Your can even change the colors of the backlight to suit your needs. This is a solid well made item. Great for old farts like me. I only wish that it a wireless model.

Customer Review: I use this for DJing with my laptop (Windows 11). Im usually operating on stage in either near total darkness or occasionally under bright flashing different colored lights. This keyboard allows me to see the keys very clearly, constantly, under all lighting conditions. Its also nice and quiet, very responsive (no missed keys), has large letters/ numbers (great for my extra large man fingers) has a great choice of colors and the ability to have 3 brightness levels is perfect. It was also instantly recognized as soon as i plugged it in, no drivers need, no “new hardware discovered” type of prompts etc. i just plugged it in & instantly it worked perfectly. I didnt read the directions but was still able to quickly figure out how to change colors, brightness as it was common sense (my ADHD brain usually always foregoes directions) however i did look at them later & they are explained extremely well, very simple to follow. Ive used others that were similar in the past but this is the best one ive had to date.Highly recommend. 👍👍

Customer Review: This is my second NUKLZ keyboard; the first one lasted well over a decade, thru two computers, and two apartment moves. Good quality item. I very much like the “sleep” button that does just that without having to “pull the plug”, also the LARGER size ENTER key that’s easier to catch with your little finger. I hope NUKLZ is still in business if this keyboard ever gets broken.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: LPK88 PC-104 illuminated key keyboardBesides wanting a back-lit keyboard for subdued-light typing, I wanted a keyboard with a Volume Knob so that I would not have to frantically search for Volume F Keys (on this keyboard they are F2,-, F3,+, F4, mute), so, I’d have to hold down the Fn key and then search for, and hit, a corresponding volume key, which takes two hands, or separate Media keyboard Volume Keys. When I’m listening to something on my computer, and the phone rings, I don’t want to scream into the phone, “Wait a second, I have to turn down the volume,” and then frantically look for the Volume down, or volume Off key. I don’t want to repeatedly depress a keyboard chicklet key until the volume is at an acceptable level for phone conversations. With this keyboard I can just tap the volume knob, the sound turns off, and I can pick up the phone before it rings a second time. The keys are slightly concave, and the spacing is greater than on chicklet key keyboards, so there’s a lesser chance of accidentally hitting two keys at the same time. The keys are soft, quiet, and have ample travel. You don’t need to press really hard to get a good depression like you have to sometimes do on a chicklet keyboard. The under-keyboard feet are serviceable, it only has one position, so it doesn’t raise the keyboard too much, but neither is it too low. The key fonts don’t have breaks in them, like some other back-lit keyboards, look very nice, are nice and large, easy to read. I found the directional keys, which reminded me of certain mouse cursors (I would have liked solid triangles, instead), and, the Caps Lock, Number Lock, and, Scroll Lock keys lighting Green when activated, are somewhat distracting since they don’t match the keyboard lighting colours.Don’t have peanut and jelly sticky, or greasy fingers, when using the keyboard, as you don’t want to have to clean the aluminium surface, which can get fingerprints, but at the same time the metal sheet isn’t a fingerprint magnet. The keyboard is not a gaming keyboard, but, it isn’t meant to be. Don’t expect Cherry switches, but at least they’re better than thin chicklet keys which have minimal key stroke travel. The illumination isn’t 100% consistent throughout, across rows of keys, but it is still serviceable; for example, the Win, and, directional keys, aren’t as uniformly lit as the main keyboard alphanumeric keys. It isn’t overly distracting in a completely dark room, just slightly so. I can’t but wish the ‘Home’ key were labelled “Ho” instead of “Hm” because ‘Hm’ reminds me of “hmmmm.”Fn + PS = on/off.Fn + SL = change 7 colours, White, Red, Green, Blue, Pink/Magenta, Teal, Yellow.Fn + Up/Down = brightness, 7 levelsA decal at the bottom of the keyboard denoting the above settings would have been appreciated since most will probably throw away the box and then forget how to program the lighting.Sure, there are better keyboards on the market, but they usually cost a whole lot more, and very few have Volume Control/Off knobs, or the labels are on the bottom side of the key, making it hard to see. As a general use computer keyboard, this one is very good at what it does, if not excellent at some things.

Customer Review: This is one of the best keyboards I’ve ever had. I tried two before this and this one is definitely the winner. Not only does it work great with longer nails making typing a breeze, but it’s also really cool looking and the perfect size for a small desk area. It’s awesome how you can change the light colors. The keys are very easy to read with large, bold print. It is not a silent keyboard and it does make clickety clack sounds which I love. No idea how this only had 4.3 Stars when I bought it because I can’t say anything bad about it at all.

Cons:

  • Lighting settings cannot be saved when keyboard is powered off
  • Low-profile “chiclet” keys may not satisfy users who prefer sculpted keys

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I like working in a low-light environment for a number of reasons, and an illuminated keyboard is a big help. This is a nice, relatively inexpensive keyboard. I am running it on a dual boot Win11/Fedora Linux system, and it works fine with both OS.Things to consider:It is a full-size (3/4″ key spacing) keyboard, Type M/ANSI layout with minor variationsThe space bar is shifted to the left a bit for inclusion of the Fn key (used for lighting settings)The keys are low-profile “chiclet” keys, with very slightly contoured tops and short travelThe keys make some noise, not really a sharp click, but still fairly loudThe lighting can be changed to any of 7 colors and 7 levels of brightness. It also has a cycle mode that constantly changes colors, which is the startup mode. Lighting can also be turned off.The lighting settings can’t be saved (although they are easy to set). All the keys are illuminated the same. There are also indicator lights for locks (Num/Caps/Scroll)The keyboard is corded, with a USB type A plug.It has the typical flip-up rear legs to change the angle of the keyboard.

Customer Review: Very nice, basic, wired, lighted keyboard. I wanted a wired keyboard, and bought a USB extension. I was getting interference from LED lights using a much more expensive small lighted BT keyboard. I like this one much more. The lights color can be selected, or you can have a rainbow, or you can have it pulse when typing (annoying). The lights stay on while there is power to the USB (PC sleep mode), but you can turn the lights off with an easy keystroke. I bought some $9 metal legs to give the keyboard more angle. The large font is also very nice – along with the backlight illuminating the letters. Overall, I like it. Is is a high-performance gaming keyboard? No. But I am not a high performance gamer. I just wanted something to use when controlling my big ol’ TV / PC at night in the Family Room. This is absolutely perfect.

Complete Buying Guide for Large Print Keyboard

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a large print keyboard, the most obvious factor is key size and print clarity. Look for keyboards that advertise “4X larger” or “oversized” fonts. The contrast between keycap and print is also crucial—high-contrast combinations like black-on-white or yellow-on-black work best. Backlighting is a major consideration: do you need it? If you work in low light, a backlit model with adjustable brightness and color options can be a game-changer. Connectivity matters too—wired USB is reliable and plug-and-play, while wireless offers flexibility but may have battery or pairing issues. Ergonomics like wrist rests, adjustable tilt, and key travel (how far the key presses down) affect comfort during long typing sessions. Finally, consider the full-size layout—do you need a numeric keypad? Are media shortcut keys important? Compatibility with your operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) is also key.

Budget Planning

Large print keyboards range from around $20 to $50. Budget models (under $25) typically offer basic large print and maybe a simple white backlight. Mid-range keyboards ($25-$40) often include RGB backlighting, wrist rests, and better build quality. Premium options ($40+) might have more advanced backlighting controls, superior key mechanisms, or additional ergonomic features. Decide which features are non-negotiable for your needs. If you only need large print and no backlight, you can spend less. If backlighting and comfort accessories are important, budget for the $30-$40 range. Remember that a wired keyboard is almost always cheaper and more reliable than a wireless one with the same features.

Final Thoughts

A large print keyboard is a simple yet transformative tool for anyone with visual challenges or who simply prefers easier-to-read keys. Our top pick, the OMOTON Large Print Computer Keyboard, wins for its unmatched clarity and dual connectivity. However, if you want backlighting, the SABLUTE K21 Pro (Editor’s Choice) or the X9 (Best Budget) are fantastic. Don’t underestimate the difference that large, high-contrast keys can make to your comfort and productivity. Take the time to consider your primary use case—whether it’s low-light gaming, office work, or general accessibility—and match the keyboard’s strengths to your needs. All the keyboards on our list are solid, but the right one for you depends on whether you prioritize backlighting, ergonomics, or pure simplicity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are large print keyboards only for seniors or visually impaired people?

A: Not at all! While they’re excellent for those groups, large print keyboards also benefit anyone who types in low-light environments, has occasional eye strain, or simply prefers larger, easier-to-hit keys. Some gamers and presenters also like them for quick key location during intense sessions.

Q: Do large print keyboards have a standard key layout?

A: Yes, virtually all large print keyboards maintain a standard QWERTY layout with a full set of function keys, a numeric keypad, and standard modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, etc.). The only difference is the size of the printed characters on the keycaps. This means you don’t have to relearn typing positions.

Q: Is a backlit large print keyboard worth the extra cost?

A: It depends on your usage. If you frequently work or play in dimly lit rooms, a backlight is extremely helpful and worth the modest price increase. Backlights allow you to see the large print even more clearly in darkness. However, if you always have good ambient lighting, you might save money with a non-backlit model like our #1 pick.

Q: Can I use a large print keyboard with a Mac?

Q: Are wireless large print keyboards available?

A: Yes, but they are less common than wired ones. Wireless models often come with a USB dongle (RF) or Bluetooth connectivity. Keep in mind that wireless adds battery maintenance and potential connection latency. For critical tasks like BIOS access or gaming, wired is generally more reliable. The keyboards in our list are primarily wired for simplicity and reliability.
