RMS 2-Pack 32-Inch Extra Long Grabber Reacher with Rotating Jaw - Mobi

This 2-pack from RMS is our top pick for its exceptional build quality and versatility. With a true 32-inch reach from handle to tip (34 inches total length), it provides ample extension for most tasks. The rotating rubberized jaw is a game-changer, allowing you to grab items at awkward angles without twisting your wrist. It’s surprisingly sturdy yet lightweight, making it comfortable for all-day use. • ✓ 2-Pack Value: Keep one upstairs and one downstairs, or share with a partner.
  • ✓ Durable Construction: Sturdy metal shaft with a comfortable, non-slip grip handle.

Why We Recommend It

The RMS 2-pack is the complete package. It combines a reliable, high-quality design with the practicality of having two tools. Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “The photos show the 2 grabbers that I purchased yesterday from Amazon Prime. The Pikstik is an exact replacement for the one I have had for many years now. The folding one I bought from Amazon Prime as well.I drive a mobility scooter and I have had the Pikstik unit secured across the top of the tiller and would perfectly set behind my 2 rear view mirrors and secured with 2 small clips. When I would spot something that would be a road hazard to cars by getting picked up by a moving vehicle and shot into a passing vehicle or a vehicle following it, I would swoop in and grab the object off the street and then place it off the road or if small enough I would toss it into the trash bag that I carry with me. I use the grabber almost every time I take the scooter out for a ride. I also have a 30” extension magnet for the metal objects that I find in the road like lug nuts, screws, nails, construction staples, hubcaps and items that I don’t know what they are. As a retired Army veteran, I used to be a helicopter mechanic and crew chief on Huey’s and unfortunately I was involved in an incident where a piece of metal was picked up and thrown into my tail rotor as the pilot lifted off the tarmac. The object destroyed the tail rotor causing the craft to spin out of control and the pilot had to slam us down HARD which caused horrific damage and injury to the pilot. I was lucky enough to only sustain minor injury. The one BIG rule that was always talked about was F. O. D. (Foreign Object Damage). Any object that is on the ground is a potential hazard to any aircraft so major attention is focused on making sure that no FOD is on the tarmac. The same applies to roads and streets and anywhere that vehicles travel. An object can be picked up by the tread of a vehicle and either right then or maybe later when that vehicle is on the highway or freeway and has enough speed going that the object stuck in the tread of the tire suddenly lets go of it. This object can and does catapult out from the tire and can easily damage a vehicle that happens to be behind them. I have seen objects penetrate through windshields or strike the body of the vehicle causing serious damage/or injury. So in my small town, while out and about I take it upon myself to help remove potentially dangerous objects from the streets in our town.So enough of the FOD stuff. I have always had the Pikstik non folding grabber handy for me to use. So why did I also buy the folding one? Well I sometimes, rarely but sometimes I wished I had 2 grabbers to aid in some of the larger items that I find in the streets. The other day I somehow managed to snap one of the grabber legs off from a branch sticking out of a large bush. I attempted a JB Weld repair with somewhat less than stellar precision and decided to just purchase a new one.So here it is. The Pikstik has a price tag of around $25. The folding one was $10 on a 50% reduced price from $20. The photos show that other than the folding difference the 2 grabbers are identical. I will install the non folding one back where the broken one has been riding for years. The folding one has a little snap clamp that I have installed under the seat of my mobility scooter and I can access it easily when I need a second one to assist with the Pikstik. Both of these grabbers seem to work identically and equally. One $25. The other $9.95. Hummmm. Big difference in the price for what? I’m not sure. But I am sure that I needed to replace the broken one I have with the same. I haven’t used the folding one yet but I can tell that it will probably perform equally as well as the non folding one. My recommendation would be as follows……Buy both of them and enjoy! I will! Now, I have 2 fur-babies that are ready to go for a ride today in “their” scooter. Hopefully I will try the folding one today.I will be posting this same review on both of the grabbers pages.”

Customer Review: “I absolutely love this. I am very short this grabber allow me to get things off the shelves put things back on shelves. It keeps me from having to bend over when my back hurts. It’s picks up things very well. Good product.”

The PowerGrip T9 focuses on one thing: maximum grip. It boasts 96 firm grip points and a wide foldable jaw, making it exceptional for picking up awkward or bulky items that other grabbers might drop. Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I bought this to pick up trash along the road while I’m taking walks. It works amazingly well. Picks up bottles, cans, wrappers, bags, little pieces of styrofoam, etc. with ease. Great product!”

Customer Review: “Purchased this thing because I’m officially old and I have a bad lower back. At first I was skeptical because of the seemingly flimsy build quality, but so far this thing is surprisingly intuitive and useful. The big question is how long it will last, which only time will tell.It has rubber tips on the “claw” grabber portion which provide ample friction for picking up various stuff. The squeeze handle operation works surprisingly well and doesn’t require much effort. It’s also very lightweight and the claws are wide enough for picking up most reasonably sized household items.Like many other reviewers I see myself buying another one of these when this one inevitably breaks. It also works well for picking up trash around the yard.”

5. EZPIK Pro 43-Inch Grabber Reacher

EZPIK Pro 43-Inch Foldable Grabber Reacher for Seniors - Heavy-Duty Tr

When you need serious reach, the EZPIK Pro delivers with its 43-inch extended length. This is the longest grabber in our roundup, perfect for tall shelves, deep yard work, or retrieving items from high places without a step stool. It’s a heavy-duty model with a metal tube shaft and a higher vertical pick-up capacity (up to 5 lbs). The foldable design is a necessity at this length, and it includes handy clips that can hold a small flashlight.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ 43-Inch Extended Reach: Maximum extension for high or deep items.
  • ✓ Heavy-Duty Metal Construction: More durable and rigid than all-plastic models.
  • ✓ High Weight Capacity: Handles up to 5 lbs vertically.
  • ✓ Foldable with Storage Clips: Collapses neatly and clips include a flashlight.
  • ✓ Magnetic Tip: For retrieving metal objects.

Why We Recommend It

For users who are taller, have very high shelves, or need to clean up large outdoor areas, standard 32-inch grabbers can fall short. The EZPIK Pro eliminates the need for a ladder for many tasks. Its metal construction provides confidence when lifting heavier items like full water bottles or small tools.

Best For

Tall individuals, those with very high storage, or for extensive outdoor and yard cleanup where maximum reach is critical.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Unmatched 43-inch reach.
  • Sturdy metal shaft feels robust and reliable.
  • Higher weight capacity than most.
  • Useful built-in flashlight clips.
Cons:
  • Longer length can be unwieldy in tight indoor spaces.
  • Hinge mechanism on the foldable section has been a failure point for some users (see review history).
  • Heavier than shorter models.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Excellent gripper with rubber porcupine type, tip gripper. The rod is a metal tube which can hold weight. We really like the foldable feature with the ability to hang this on a nail or hook for storage until you need it. My wife is under 5’ ( 1.52 meters ) and has trouble reaching things on our upper cabinets and shelves, even with this, but less so now. Reaching things behind heavy furniture is easier since this has clips that can hold a small flashlight when in use. ( the clips hold the folded part of the device when folded ) I included some pictures. The flashlight I used is a Maglite and I had to use a rubber band to hold it in place, but included this to help you understand what I improvised. The camera compensated for the low light and the surroundings look brighter than actually were.Update; Jan 25th. 2022: this thing broke! The grabber is all plastic except for the metal tube. The part that folds, broke apart when I went to unfold it. I redact my recommendation for this product. The hinges should be made of metal and not plastic. See newly attached photos. Notice the screw? That is the hinge point and the bit of plastic sticking up broke off. I had to tape it and zip tie the plastic hinge tube to hold it together because otherwise the tube is held together only by the wire for the grips.2nd. Update; April 19th. 2022:Seller sent me a free replacement. It’s longer than the previous version which my wife of under five foot finds extremely helpful. So far this unit has held up to frequent, almost daily use. The other grabber we had to zip tie and gorilla tape the center and is only useable for VERY lite use picking up rubbish. These things can pick up items like a glass jar of under 5 lbs. and such but make sure you have a good grip.If not then glass will slip out because the grips are only at the tips but the rest is bare metal. This item is designed for lite, home use only.UPDATE 5/9/23: the replacement we were sent has been holding up to constant, home life use and has not disappointed like the 1st. item so therefore I have increased the rating of this product.”

Customer Review: “Great quality, easy handling, even has an NIB magnet for grabbing lost keys. Get a spare for your car!”

6. PowerGrip T9 Grabber Reacher

PowerGrip T9 2024 Upgrade Grabber Reacher - Wide Foldable Jaw, Steel C

This is the 2024 version of the PowerGrip T9, sharing the core features of its 2025 counterpart but often at a slightly lower price point. It still features the wide foldable jaw, 96 grip points, and steel cable for enhanced strength. The build quality is excellent, and it’s a fantastic alternative if the newer model is out of stock or if you find this one at a better price. It’s a testament to the design that both versions earn high marks.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ 96 Firm Grip Points: Superior non-slip texture.
  • ✓ Wide Foldable Jaw: Accommodates larger, bulky items.
  • ✓ Steel Cable Reinforcement: Adds durability and reduces flex.
  • ✓ Integrated Magnet: For metal objects.
  • ✓ Foldable Design: For compact storage.

Why We Recommend It

It offers the same powerful grip and sturdy feel as the top-rated PowerGrip model. The steel cable is a key feature that gives it a more premium, reliable feel compared to all-plastic competitors. It’s a workhorse tool built for consistent performance.

Best For

Users who want the PowerGrip advantage (superior grip) but are looking for a potentially more affordable version. Excellent for heavy-duty litter cleanup and garage use.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Excellent, secure grip with 96 texture points.
  • Wide opening and strong metal reinforcement.
  • Foldable for storage.
  • Often a better value than the newest model.
Cons:
  • Same potential for marking delicate surfaces as other PowerGrip models.

Complete Buying Guide for Reacher Grabber Tool

Essential Factors We Consider

Choosing the right reacher grabber depends on your specific needs. Here are the critical factors we evaluated for this roundup. Reach Length is the most obvious spec. Standard is 32 inches, but longer (34″, 43″) models exist for high shelves or tall users. Be aware of whether the length is “overall” or “functional reach” from handle to jaw. Grip Type matters: rubberized tips with texture offer the best all-around grip. Some have wide jaws for boxes, others have precision tips for small items. A magnetic tip is a useful bonus for nails, screws, and keys. Rotation (90° or 360°) is a major convenience feature, allowing you to grab items without twisting your whole body. Construction determines durability. Metal shafts are stronger and more rigid; plastic is lighter but can flex or break. Foldability is key for storage and portability. Weight Capacity is rarely listed but important—most handle 1-5 lbs. Exceeding this can bend the tool. Finally, Ergonomics: a comfortable, non-slip handle with a smooth, easy-pull trigger reduces hand fatigue.

Budget Planning

You can get a functional basic grabber for under $10. These are great for light, occasional use but often lack durability and strong grips. The sweet spot for quality and value is between $15 and $30. In this range, you’ll find robust models with rotating jaws, magnets, and better materials (like metal-reinforced shafts). Our top picks like the RMS 2-pack and PowerGrip models sit here. Premium models ($30+) may offer exceptional build quality, specialized grips, or ultra-lightweight materials, but the mid-range offers the best return on investment for most users. Buying a 2-pack often provides better per-unit value and is highly recommended for multi-level homes.

Final Thoughts

A reacher grabber is one of those simple tools that can dramatically improve quality of life. It promotes independence, prevents falls from standing on chairs, and reduces back strain. Our testing shows you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a great one. The RMS 2-Pack is our overall winner for its unbeatable combination of durability, features, and value. If portability is your top concern, the Generic Foldable 2-Pack is a brilliant choice. For those needing maximum reach, the EZPIK Pro 43-inch or the 34-inch Foldable 2-Pack are excellent. Consider your primary use case—indoor light chores, heavy outdoor cleanup, or high-reach tasks—and match the tool’s strengths to your needs. Any of the tools on this list will serve you well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are reacher grabbers safe for seniors to use?

A: Yes, absolutely. They are designed as mobility aids to prevent falls and strain. The key is choosing a model with a comfortable handle and a smooth, easy-action trigger that doesn’t require excessive hand strength. Always ensure the grabber is fully locked and stable before putting weight on it.

Q: What is the difference between a 90° and 360° rotating jaw?

A: A 90° rotating head lets you adjust the claw to a horizontal or vertical position. A 360° rotating jaw spins completely, allowing you to grab items from any side without twisting your wrist or the entire tool. 360° offers significantly more flexibility and is easier on the joints.

Q: How much weight can a reacher grabber safely hold?

A: Most standard grabbers are rated for a vertical pick-up capacity of 1 to 5 pounds. This is sufficient for items like cans, books, bottles, and trash. Never use a grabber for anything heavier than its rated capacity, as the shaft can bend or the joint can fail, especially in plastic models.

Q: Do the magnetic tips actually work?

A: They do, but with limitations. The magnets are typically small and can pick up light metal objects like keys, nails, bottle caps, and paperclips. They will not lift heavy items like full cans or tools. Their main use is for small, frustrating items that roll away or are hard to grip.

Q: Can a reacher grabber pick up small items like coins or pills?

A: Yes, but it depends on the jaw design. Models with fine, textured rubber grips and a narrower tip (like the RMS) excel at this. Models with very wide, smooth jaws will struggle. Look for descriptions mentioning “precision” or “small item pickup” if this is a primary need.

Don’t let bending, stretching, or unreachable items limit your independence. A quality reacher grabber is an affordable, life-changing tool. Based on our extensive testing, the RMS 2-Pack stands out as the best overall choice for its durability, rotating jaw, and fantastic 2-pack value. For most people, it’s the one tool you’ll reach for (pun intended) again and again.
