Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I read the reviews and was on the fence about this product. I needed a loud easy to navigate phone with large numbers of my 81 year old mother in law. She had an Alcatel flip phone, but it wasn’t loud enough anymore and she started having a hard time opening it.When I put the SIM card in the Artfone, it worked right away, but then stopped, saying it’s not compatible with the AT&T network. I figured the reviews were correct, but decided to see if AT&T could fix. I checked online and it says the IMEI does not work on the AT&T network. I was on the phone with AT&T for about 17 minutes and now the phone works flawlessly. Get the phone, but know you have to call AT&T.
Customer Review: This phone does not work. The charging base doesn’t work. After the phone is fully charged directly from the cable, there are no settings to set up. I read and reread the instructions. I’m in my mid-forties, so I shouldn’t have any trouble with this older style phone. I’m so disappointed. 🙁

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I honestly LOVE this phone! For anyone looking for a “dumb” phone that focuses solely on calling and texting, this is the one! It does everything I need it to do and doesn’t have any useless preloaded apps. The build quality is truly excellent, and I can tell that a lot of care and precision has gone into the design. The buttons feel so great to press and are very precise. The software is intuitive and well thought out. Most importantly, it has great reception for texting and calling on the Ting network (which uses Tmobile). On occasion there are a few areas where the menus are a bit convoluted, but I don’t mind. Some specific things I really like about this phone: you can choose between predictive text or regular old school texting, which I prefer; you can customize the screen lock so it only activates when pressing the “end call” button; you can longpress the zero key to turn on the flashlight; you can plug it into your PC and add custom ringtones; you can customize the function of the left and right buttons; you can also set specific times for it to automatically power on and off, which extends battery life. On a full charge so far I have had it on for five days and it still has three of five bars left on the battery icon. Some people have complained about the camera, but I found it to be entirely adequate. Sure, it won’t take the best pictures in the world, but it gets the job done when it needs to, which for me is what matters most. In terms of size it’s perhaps slightly larger than I would prefer, but that also makes the buttons easier to press, so I don’t mind. The last feature phone I had was the ZTE Cymbal U, and this AGM M9 puts that to shame. THIS IS A TRULY EXCELLENT PHONE!!
Customer Review: Perfect fit I was looking for one that it truly does not have internet or wifi.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: We got thes for my mother-in-law, a dementia patient, after her flip phone became more than she could deal with and we were concernedwith her growing isolation. She has had no problems using this one so far.The only differences from the phones of the 80’s: the dial tone and the sound it make when waiting for the other party to answer don’t sound like the phones from the past.Pros: Super easy setup (I’m on T-Mobile), easy to use, ringer sounds exactly like I remember, there’s a red light that lights up when ringing, you can set it up so you don’t need to dial the area code if it’s a local call (just like the old days).Cons: while it comes with adapters for all sizes of SIM cards, they may be a challenge to install correctly (I had difficulty getting the smallest version in).Over all… I 100% love that this has allowed my mother-in-law to easily communicate with her loved ones again (and vice versa)
Customer Review: Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this product for its familiarity in operation to the telephones from the 70’s. My 90 year old aunt doesn’t understand cell technology and wanted a telephone with which she would have an understanding of how to operate. Unfortunately, it has not lived up to expectations. She has owned this device for nearly a year. The phone will randomly turn off (even though it remains plugged in). It is not easy nor explainable to reboot and get it working again. Once it starts working again it will shut down within a two week period (sometimes three days sometimes 10 days later). Until I am able to go to her apartment, she is without the service of a phone. What makes this worse is the people who manufactured this item cannot be reached for customer service issues. What I was hoping would be a problem solving device has turned into a product that has been more difficult to deal with than the basic cell phones I have purchased for her that she has no idea how to use.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: My husband has trouble dialing phones. I have bought him several cell phones, a watch phone, and five different landline-type phones. ONE of the landline-types, he can use, at home. However, right now, he is in a nursing home/physical rehabilitation facility. Their “princess style” touch-tone phone did not work for him.I brought him a different one, that we had at home, tucked away. He could not use that, either. So…, I got this one for him. I put my cell phone number and work number in the first two slots, and took it to him.THIS phone, he can use, and BOY, can he use it! He called me four times on it, while I was trying to eat dinner. He called me early in the morning, before I went to work. He is VERY proficient at using this particular phone. The ringer is great, the button sizes are great, and the volume is great. Now, if he’d just use it SPARINGLY!
Customer Review: Great for seniors with impaired vision or impaired cognitive ability. The speed dial buttons are a life saver if the person can’t figure out how to use the other phones. I ordered a longer cord right off the bat knowing we would need it. Happy with this purchase. Helps my elder a lot!

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Great for my elderly mom of 90.The buttons are big and the numbers are bold.
Customer Review: I bought this for my 103 year old mother because it has large buttons and an answering machine. The manual was not very helpful and the device is not at all intuitive. It took 2 of us tech savvy individuals to get it working. Apparently the power flicked off and the answering matchine doesn’t work. Actually one can leave a message and the answering tells you how many messages were received but there’s no way to retrieve them. We finally set an announcement asking callers not to leave a message. Useless

Customer Review: Purchased this for my Mom who due to dementia has so difficulty with m a king calls. The squares on the phone are working:well for her. Instead of pictures we wrote names in the squares and she’s been calling me independent of assistance from anyone. The fact that when the phone rings she can pick of the receiver the old fashioned way and talk. There’s a button for the speaker phone but she hasn’t used that yet. Baby steps…She’s only been using it for 2 weeks but for now All is Well! The phone is Well made and of good quality.
Customer Review: Bought it for my g’ma. She loves it, large numbers. The picture dial for the main people that she calls is wonderful. The phone quality is great. Sounds good. The volume control very nice. She doesn’t have as much problems as she used to with the volume anymore. I had a little bit of problem, setting it up, but my nephew was able to set it up great.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I am very pleased with this phone system. It has a large easy to read screen and large buttons. I love the photo speed dial and call blocker functions. It is very easy to set up. Out of the box the ringer is very loud, but IT CAN be adjusted to a lower level by going through the prompts on the cordless handset. It does have a built in answering machine as well. Phone calls sound crystal clear and you can even boost the sound while on a call or slow down the caller’s message while listening to your voice messages on the answering machine which is excellent especially while trying to jot down any notes or phone numbers that the caller leaves. You can even program in reminders for yourself. I have the corded/cordless system and also purchased the extra photo handset extention which works flawlessly with this system. I may get the pendant in the future. I have Voip over service from vonage and all features work great with it including call blocker. I highly recommend this phone system for not just the senior and disabled community, but for anyone who wants an easy to use phone system with large display and excellent sound quality. Also, I was not offered any free incentives for leaving this review. I paid full price for it and I would do it do it again in a heartbeat .💗 💗💗
Customer Review: Purchased along with the VTech SN5307 Amplified Photo DIAL Accessory Handset.Mom was really struggling with her old Panasonic wireless phones. Buttons were to small, screen hard to read…etc. etc. These seemed like an interesting alternative. Mom couldn’t be happier! The picture dual buttons seem a little gimmicky, but they really make using the phone much easier. Simply print some pictures of family, add a Name and insert them into the frames. Then just press the picture and you’re ready to go!It’s a little annoying that the pictures aren’t the same size, buts that’s a pretty minor thing. One good tip, keep the names you program into the memory simple – once programmed the caller ID will say the name. User will here “Call from Bob” for example and they can easily decide if they want to answer or not.The accessory handset will have the same four numbers programmed as picture dial on the main phone. You can’t dial any other numbers from the accessory handset, but you can answer any incoming calls.Yes, the handsets are both battery hogs, if you leave them off the charger overnight they will low the next morning. Just keep them in the charger and they will be ready when you need them. The voice caller ID is great, if you don’t here someone you recognize, just don’t answer. The speaker phone on the the base, main handset and accessory handset are all pretty good and the range is great.Overall a great choice for anyone who only needs a few programmed contacts, has trouble pushing little buttons and just wants something simple. The instructions are pretty well written and easy to follow.Definitely recommend!
Complete Buying Guide for Big Button Mobile Phone
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing a big button mobile phone, focus on button size and layout—buttons should be at least 0.5 inches square with high-contrast numbering. Audio amplification is critical; look for ringer volume above 90dB and handset volume control. Consider power source: corded phones are always ready, while mobile phones need charging. Emergency features like SOS buttons and speed dials provide safety. Network compatibility is vital for mobile models—ensure they work with your carrier, especially if you’re on a prepaid plan for seniors. Lastly, evaluate additional functions like answering machines, caller ID, and flashlight based on the user’s needs.
Budget Planning
Big button phones range from $20 for basic corded models to $100+ for advanced cordless systems with answering machines. Mobile versions with 4G typically cost $50-$150. Set a budget based on required features: essential needs (large buttons, loud volume) can be met affordably, while premium features (photo speed dial, multiple handsets) increase cost. Remember to factor in potential carrier fees for mobile devices. For seniors on fixed incomes, a simple corded phone offers the best value, but if mobility is needed, a budget-friendly unlocked mobile like the AGM M9 provides good value.
Final Thoughts
Selecting the right big button mobile phone can greatly enhance communication for seniors and those with accessibility needs. Prioritize simplicity, durability, and clear audio. Test button feel and sound levels if possible. Our top picks balance functionality with ease of use, but the best choice depends on individual circumstances—whether it’s for home use, on-the-go, or specific carrier requirements. Take time to assess the user’s daily routine and challenges to make a confident decision.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are big button phones compatible with all carriers?
A: Compatibility varies. Unlocked GSM phones work with AT&T, T-Mobile, and their MVNOs (like Mint Mobile, Straight Talk). CDMA carriers (Verizon, Sprint) have limited support. Always check the phone’s band support and your carrier’s 2G/3G/4G availability. For corded landline phones, they work with standard home phone service.
Q: What is the difference between corded and cordless big button phones?
A: Corded phones connect directly to the wall jack and never need charging, offering reliable, always-on service. Cordless phones use a base station and handset with batteries, providing mobility within the home but requiring periodic charging. Some models combine both (corded base with cordless handset).
Q: How loud should a big button phone be for hearing impaired users?
A: For severe hearing loss, look for ringer volume ≥ 90dB and handset volume ≥ 80dB. Some phones offer up to 110dB ringer and 98dB speakerphone. Hearing aid compatibility (HAC) is also important—check for the HAC rating (M3/T3 or higher).
Q: Do big button mobile phones have internet or apps?
A> Most big button mobile phones are “feature phones” with basic calling, texting, and maybe a camera. They typically lack full internet browsing and app stores. Some 4G models may have limited web browsing, but they are designed for simplicity, not smartphone functionality. If internet access is needed, consider a senior-friendly cell phone plan with a simple smartphone.
Q: Can I use a big button phone with a SIM card from any provider?
A: For unlocked mobile phones, the SIM must match the phone’s network technology (GSM vs CDMA) and frequency bands. Dual SIM phones can accept two cards, often from different carriers. Always verify with your carrier that your SIM is active and compatible. Some older 2G-only phones may not work on networks that have shut down 2G service.
Finding the right big button mobile phone can make a world of difference in staying connected safely and independently. Whether you need a rugged device for outdoor use, a retro desk phone for a loved one with dementia, or a simple corded home phone with extreme volume, our top picks offer something for every need and budget.
